Account and data deletion
How to delete your Jay account and what happens to associated information.
Delete your account in Jay
Open Profile → Settings → Account deletion, tap Delete account, type DELETE, and confirm. The request starts immediately. If you cannot access the app, email hello@thejaywayapp.com from the account email address.
What is deleted
For an account that is the only guardian in its family space, deletion removes the Jay account and associated child and family information, including stored documents, searchable text, profile and Journey records, conversations, saved research, connected-source credentials, and the Jay sign-in identity.
Shared family spaces
If another authorised guardian remains in the family space, deleting your account removes your access and account-scoped records. Shared child records remain available to the other authorised guardian. Contact support if you need the whole shared family space removed.
Google Drive and subscriptions
Deleting Jay does not change or delete original files in Google Drive. Jay removes its saved connection. Deleting Jay also does not cancel an Apple subscription; manage or cancel it in your Apple account.
Retries, backups and required records
Jay deletes stored objects before completing database deletion. If a required deletion step fails, the request remains incomplete and can be retried rather than being reported as complete. Limited transaction, security or audit records may be retained where reasonably needed or legally required. Deleted information may remain in protected backups until those backups rotate out of service.
Before deleting and support
Account deletion is permanent. Export or save anything you need before confirming. If deletion does not complete or you need help, email hello@thejaywayapp.com.
