Therapy cost estimator: what your child’s therapy may cost

Enter your therapist’s fee and how many sessions you expect this year. See the yearly cost, and what an NDIS plan or Medicare may cover.

Your answers stay in this tab. NDIS price limits and Medicare benefits checked .

Which therapy?
How will you pay for it?

Choose the one you want to estimate. You can change it and compare.

Extras on your quote (optional)

Enter the total for the year for each one, not an hourly rate. Leave a box empty if it’s already in your session fee or you don’t know. The estimate doesn’t assume Medicare or the NDIS pays for these.

See an example

20 sessions at $200 come to $4,000. Add a $500 assessment and a $300 report and the year costs $4,800. With a GP chronic condition plan, Medicare pays back $63.40 on five sessions, so you would pay about $4,483. The fees are made up.

The figures this uses

The same limits apply to these professionals in early childhood supports. Self-managed plans aren’t bound by the price limits, but every session still comes out of the plan’s budget.

Medicare

Private health insurance extras may also pay part of a session. Cover differs by fund and policy, so ask your fund.
