The Jay Way › Organise your child’s reports
Your child’s reports, ready for the next appointment
If your child’s reports are spread across email, school portals, paper folders and your phone, finding the right one before an appointment takes longer than it should.
The Jay Way keeps your child’s reports in one place. You can ask questions about them and get ready for appointments with the actual records in front of you.
The Jay Way is on the Australian App Store. It’s free to download, and subscription details are in the app. Outside Australia, you can join the waitlist.
Keep the reports together
Upload a report, or pick a file from Google Drive. Therapy reports, assessments, school plans, letters and NDIS plans all sit in one place, and the original is always there to open.
Jay can explain a report in plain language and answer questions about your child’s records. Treat the summary as a starting point: the original report is what counts, and the person who wrote it can explain anything unclear.
Get ready for the next appointment
Before a therapy review, school meeting, specialist visit or NDIS plan review, Jay can put together a meeting pack: the reports that matter, your child’s goals and the questions you want to ask.
Add what you have noticed at home, especially anything that has changed since a report was written. Jay keeps your notes apart from what the reports say. Read the pack before you share it.
A made-up example, not a real family
A speech appointment about asking for help
The record
An invented October speech report describes using a picture card to ask for help during a structured activity.
The parent’s observation
“At home, my child brings me the closed snack box but does not pick up the help card. At preschool, staff say the card is used during morning group time.”
The question to prepare
“The report describes using the help card in a structured activity. We are seeing something different at snack time. What should we observe at home and ask preschool to record before the next review?”
What goes to the appointment
The report, the parent’s snack-time example and the question. The speech pathologist has something specific to talk about, and the parent hasn’t had to guess why home and preschool look different.
Remember what happened when
Journey keeps the moments you want to hold on to: a milestone, a new goal, something to raise next time. When Jay finds a date in a report, it suggests an entry and you decide whether it goes in.
Start with a free preparation tool
These work on the website with no account. They only use what you type in, and nothing is saved or sent to us.
- Appointment question builder: a short list of questions for your next appointment.
- Communication passport: a page that tells new people how your child communicates.
- NDIS evidence organiser: a list of the reports you have and what still needs following up.
- Carer impact statement: notes on the care you give and how it affects your family, for an NDIS conversation.
Where can families use the app?
The app is only in the Australian App Store for now. Anywhere else, join the waitlist and we’ll let you know when it reaches your country. The communication passport and question builder work wherever you live. The NDIS, Medicare and Carer Allowance information on this site is for Australia only.
Jay helps you organise information. It doesn’t give medical or clinical advice, diagnose, recommend treatment or decide funding. Those decisions stay with your child’s professionals and the relevant agencies.
